Tamsin
I am Tamsin, founder of Bosley Patch. What started as seedling business, selling produce to local restaurants and a box scheme back in 2003 has become a flourishing market garden and artisan bakery supplying our local market town. We are proud to sit at the heart of our community, nourishing families, body and soul with good food, simply grown and beautiful flowers. We treasure our community; clients, suppliers, friends, volunteers, supporters and family, fully recognising the importance of the people that sit at the heart of the matrix of support that binds and carries us,
Molly
Like many 16 year olds, my niece had her school and soclal life turned upside down by Covid 19 and lockdown. Molly however did not let any time go to waste this summer, Here at the Patch she has mastered the art of sourdough bread (which she continues to help me with every morning) helped with veg box packing and the shop, In floristry however Molly excels, with a natural eye for colour and form she has blown us all away with her beautiful arrangements. It has been a treat to get to know this lovely young woman as we’ve worked side by side, listening to Radio 4 together baking and arranging,
Virginia
‘My Brilliant Friend’. With a successful career as Head of Franchise for a global fashion house and now Director in Finance, Virginia’s down time is with her family at Bosley Patch. They look after our demonstration allotment where they enjoy the therapeutic process of growing their own produce. During lockdown her support with the veg box scheme and friendship was unwavering. And we are planning an exciting ‘grow your own’ teaching project together for 2021.
Scout & Basil
#patchlife would not be the same without these two running around giving endless amusement, They spend their days hunting mice and gazing longingly through the fence at the orchard rabbits. They are the only sons of our much loved and sorely missed ‘Pippy Dog’; friend to 13 years of volunteers and the scourge of any rat !
Jenny
Discovering we shared a love for Jazz, Jenny began to help me every Friday morning in the kitchen. We listen to Ella, Art, Herbie and more as I bake the bread and she makes the doughnuts. Jenny is currently studying for a Masters in Music Therapy. She makes every Friday morning joyous and is responsible for this lovely website !
Valesca
My amazing sister and organiser of all things! With an instant overwhelming demand for our produce and the need for contactless collection via due to the coronavirus pandemic Valesca stepped up to help. As a hands on healer by trade, she switched from reflexology during lockdown to grower, picker, logistics manager, sorter, packer, supporter and the smiling face of Bosley Patch. These extraordinary months have enabled us to forge an unexpected, joyous and incredibly productive working relationship. I genuinely have no idea how I ever managed without her!
Max
Max came to live with us 3 years ago and has transformed the garden by dint of his determination and hard work. Big brother to William and Katie and a cheerful, whistling, cheeky presence in our home he has recently secured a place training with The British Army. We are all immensely proud of him and what he has achieved. Max has become a true member of our family and will be sorely missed when he heads off to join up.
Claire
Finance guru by trade, flower lover by heart and an extraordinary talent for baking. Claire found the Patch through WWOOF a volunteering website. Now in her second season with us Claire is indispensable, holding everything together (including me) loving the dogs, cutting the flowers and making irresistible cakes for the farmshop.
Sarah
Medical herbalist, holistic massage therapist and university lecturer by profession but a firm member of the #patchlife family since 2009 when she first arrived to volunteer through WWOOF. The children grew up with Sarah as an older sister to them and she has been my right hand and dear friend to all of us for over 10 years after moving permanently to Henley to start her practice.
Family
From the beginning this trio of fabulous humans have supported me in my endeavours and allowed me to run with my passion. Without them the lawns would not be mown, the greenhouses and tunnels would never have been built and they’ve always been there with hammer, gaffer tape and WD40 in a ‘this needs fixing right now’ situation. They have put up with my distracted absences all summer every year and a kitchen taken over with vegetables and latterly pallet loads of flour sacks. Thank you team Lovatt and I love you!
